Police were called at 9.51pm on Thursday, April 10, to reports of a stabbing on Swain’s Lane, outside the Superstate grocery shop.
Emergency services attended the scene, where a 34-year-old man was found with stab wounds to his back, reportedly by a small group of men.
The injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening or life changing.
Brian Samuels, of Shetland Close, Borehamwood was charged on Saturday, April 12 with six offences including GBH, violent disorder, possession of an offensive weapon, assault, driving without a licence or insurance.
The 54-year-old has been remanded to appear in Highbury Corner Magistrate’s Court today (April 14).
At the scene of the incident on Thursday, Zena, who lives nearby, said: “I’m upset, I really hope the person who was stabbed is ok as nobody seems to know.
“I hope that they catch the person who did it and they find out why it happened.
“This is a really peaceful area. Superstate is a wonderful store with lovely people working there. It’s a real asset.”
Cllr Lorna Russell, who lives in nearby Holly Lodge, reacted to news of the incident.
She said: “I am both shocked and horrified to see this on our doorstep. My thoughts are with the victim and his family.”
Investigations are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Officers investigating a stabbing in Highgate have charged a man.
“Police were alerted at 21:51hrs on Thursday, 10 April to reports of a stabbing at Swain’s Lane, N6.
“Officers joined London Ambulance Service at the scene, where a 34-year-old man had received stab wound injuries to the back by a small group men.
“The injuries were not deemed to be life-threatening or life changing.
“Mr. Brian Samuels (26/12/1970), of Shetland Close, Borehamwood was charged on 12th April with six offences including GBH, violent disorder, possession of an offensive weapon, assault, driving without a licence or insurance.
“He’s been remanded to appear in Highbury Corner Magistrate’s Court on 14th April
