The incident happened in Surrey Street near Church Street at 12.50pm yesterday (October 17).
Officers and London Ambulance Service crews attended and found a man seriously injured.
He was taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.

A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called at 12.50hrs on Friday, 17 October after a man sustained serious injuries after falling from height on Surrey Street, Croydon.
“The man, in his 30s, has been taken to hospital where he remains in a critical condition.
“The incident is being treated as unexpected but not suspicious.”
A spokesperson for London Ambulance Service said: “We were called at 12.50pm today to reports of a person fallen from height on Surrey Street, Croydon.
“We sent resources, including an ambulance crew, an advanced paramedic and an incident response officer.
“We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance. We treated a man for a head injury and took him to hospital as a priority.”
