The City of London Corporation, which manages Hampstead Heath and associated parks, says Golders Hill Park and the Hill Garden will remain closed today (January 24) until it is safe to open.
Gusts of over 40mph were forecast until around 10am.
The corporation posted on X yesterday to warn that the swimming ponds might be closed, and sent an update this morning to say the men and women’s swimming ponds are open.
Storm Éowyn hit Northern Ireland last night and parts of Scotland and northern England have been put on red alert by the Met Office, meaning people have been advised not to travel.
London has a yellow warning for wind.

The Met office said it will be dry and bright today with winds continuing to ease overnight to become light.
It may be cloudier on Saturday with some locally heavy showers during the morning clearing to leave a dry and bright afternoon:
Sunday will start dry but may turn windier with some heavy rain later in the day.
