Erdal Ozmen was the man found wounded in the street early yesterday morning (August 5), reports ITV.
Despite attempts to save him, the 45-year-old died at the junction of Dynevor Road and Stoke Newington High Street soon after midnight.
A murder investigation was launched with police tape closing Stoke Newington High Street and a tent in Dyvenor Road.
Liza Dodds said: “My husband told me there had been a shooting and I looked out the window and it was terrible – the policeman was giving CPR to someone for a very long time.

“It felt like it was an hour.
She added: “Anyone of us could have gone out to the shops and been shot at accidentally.
“It’s strange because I love it here. It’s a very, very close community. Everyone knows each other.
“It’s terrible. But it has got nothing to do with this community.”
Residents told of waking to the sound of gunfire in the night.
Paul Orris was staying near the shooting. He said: “It was between 11 and 12. There were probably three shots and a minute later I heard police sirens.
“When you hear that you hang around for screams but when it’s silent…”
Police say the victim’s next of kin have been informed and are being supported.

Detective Chief Superintendent Brittany Clarke said: “Our team of detectives and forensic specialists are working at pace to establish the full circumstances that led to the tragic death of this man.
“We understand this incident will cause concern within the Stoke Newington community, however we do believe this to be an isolated incident at this stage of the investigation with no wider risk to the general public.”
This is the sixth fatal shooting in London in 2025 – with three of those in north London.
The year before a nine-year-old girl died after being shot in Dalston.
Stoke Newington High Street is no longer being reported as closed.
