Londoners have become besotted with the iconic cherry blossom, which has become so synonymous with spring.
To mark cherry blossom season, Sticks ‘N’ Sushi has launched a new Sakura menu with four themed drinks, house rolls and a dessert, which will be running up until March 27.

Beginning with the cocktails, the menu features three alcoholic drinks as well as a non-alcoholic drink themed around cherry blossom, including the Beneath the Sakura Tree, The Sakura Dew, Sakura Vesper and Sakura Blush.
We went for the Sakura Vesper, which is a take on a classic martini with Botanist gin, Sake Ono Junmai Daiginjo and olive brine, and the Sakura Dew, which was a sweet blend of Akashi Tai Yuzushu and St Germain topped with strawberry shrub.
The cocktails were pretty good and all were topped with decorative details like petals and flowers, with drinks priced at around £14.

Moving onto food, we tried the Sakura House Lobster rolls, which were made with lobster, Sakura rice, miso aioli and lumpfish roe.
These were so delicious, being light and fluffy with the lobster and Sakura rice, and I have to say I do hope this is brought back again.
But we didn’t stop there, as this Danish-Japanese fusion restaurant is well known for its mix of grilled and sushi options, so we decided to opt for one of their set menus to try a range of dishes.

For £41 a person you get ten sharing dishes consisting of sushi dishes like the Crispy Ebi, Spicy Tuna and Abokado along with grilled sticks like their Buta Yaki, Shake Teriyaki and Tsukune.
My favourites were definitely the Kinoko Korokke – a mushroom croquette with a delicious Danish cheese – and the Shake Yaki, which was a seared salmon and rice dish with soy sauce.
Finally we finished off the evening with the Sakura Cheri Fondant, which was a gooey pink dessert consisting of Amarena cherry and white chocolate core, served with vanilla ice cream and cherry biscuit crumble, and it was sweet and indulgent whilst still being light in texture.
If you’re looking to visit Sticks ‘N’ Sushi and have a weak spot for all things pink, now certainly is the time to visit, with the Sakura menu running up until April 27.
