Police were called to Stamford Hill, close to the Morrisons supermarket, at 3.15am yesterday (July 11).
There had been reports that a person “had fallen from height”.
London Ambulance Service (LAS) also attended the scene, where a man aged in his 40s was pronounced dead.
A police spokesperson said: “The death is being treated as unexpected, and enquiries are ongoing to determine the circumstances and trace his next of kin.”
LAS said that an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and a response officer responded to the incident.
“We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance, which consisted of a paramedic and a doctor in a car,” a spokesperson added.
“Our first paramedic arrived in less than five minutes.”
