Police were called to Stainforth Road on Saturday (August 30) at 3.42pm to reports of a crash involving one car.
The man, in his 20s, was taken to hospital.
He has since been discharged and arrested on suspicion of driving without insurance, driving without a valid licence and dangerous driving.
The suspect has been released under investigation while enquires continue.
Footage showed a car on its side on the pavement.
The front of the car appeared to be badly damaged.
