Mohammad Sagar, owner of Stack & Sizzle, previously told the Recorder that he aimed to open the new restaurant on July 6 or 7 but has had to delay the first day of business.
He previously explained that his “focus was on quality” and a large contributor to guaranteeing quality was by using fresh and locally sourced products.
Speaking to the Recorder this morning (July 9), he said: “We want to source our ingredients fresh and good quality.
“We want fresh chicken, fresh beef and other produce from local sources and some of these supplies have been disrupted and delayed.
“I don’t want to cut corners.
“Now we’re hoping to open on July 12 (Saturday) for customers to eat-in and for takeaways and then for deliveries on the 15th.”
The eatery will open in place of the former Italian restaurant Bunno.

He said he factored this in to his decision to delay the opening date.
“We have a small batch of produce ready but we aren’t sure how big of a rush we will have on our opening day and we don’t want to get meat and vegetables from unknown sources.
“That’s the only reason we haven’t opened yet.
“We’re ready apart from this.”

Stack & Sizzle will offer a “peri-peri Portuguese and Mexican fusion” menu.
Before announcing the delay to opening, Mohammad said: “I’m very excited but very nervous (to open) – this is my brand and I want everything to work well.
“There’s many moving parts involved in selling to customers but hopefully it will go smoothly and nicely – the first three months are very crucial.
“We will try our best to get fresh produce for our customers.”
