An event, held on Sunday, November 16, at St Michael and All Angels Parish Church commemorated the milestone.
Sir Philip Warner was in attendance, who is the great-grandson of Sir Thomas Courtenay Warner, the first mayor of Walthamstow.
Sir Thomas contributed significantly to the church’s construction and attended its consecration on November 18, 1885.
The Warner family’s connection to the church extends beyond Sir Thomas’s death in 1934, with Warner Estate Limited funding the restoration of the sanctuary in 1950.

The celebration was further graced by the Bishop of Barking, Revd Lynne Cullens, who was the preacher at the solemn mass.
The church’s first vicar, Revd Edmund Ibbotson, organised a ceremony involving 120 Sunday School children.
Continuing this tradition, the recent service was followed by a party in the parish centre, where an anniversary cake was cut by Sir Philip.
