Armed officers were seen stopping traffic as they dealt with an incident on St John’s Wood Road on Sunday (March 16).
It is understood this sighting was linked to police being called further into central London in New Bond Street at 4.10pm.
Police were called to reports of two men armed with a knife riding e-bikes.
Two suspects were arrested by officers who arrived at the scene, and they were taken into custody.
Bradley McMillan, 32, of Blackstock Road, Islington, and Ellis Parkinson, 31, of Thornhill Square in Islington, were both charged with four counts of theft, dangerous driving and going equipped for theft on Monday (March 17).
They appeared in court on Tuesday (March 18), with McMillian at Uxbridge Magistrates’ Court and Parkinson at Westminster Magistrates’ Court.
