St Albans is among the UK’s must-visit cities this Christmas
St Albans was named the best city to visit for festive entertainment by The Telegraph.
Sharing why the Hertfordshire spot made the list, The Telegraph wrote: “For a less-crowded Christmas break, head for Hertfordshire, where St Albans offers medieval charm, cosy pubs and plenty of entertainment.
“Sink into the plush seats of the art deco Odyssey Cinema to watch Christmas classics; catch an open-air production of Dickens’ A Christmas Carol in the walled Vintry Garden (Dec 5-30); or enjoy Carols on the Hour (Dec 13), where choirs belt out songs in St Albans’ venerable cathedral.”
It wasn’t just St Albans’ entertainment that earned it praise, with the city’s market, pubs and hotels celebrated.
Sharing where to eat when visiting the city, Ye Olde Fighting Cocks was highlighted by the outlet.
The pub is among the oldest in the UK, dating back to 793AD and was once listed in the Guinness Book of Records.
