The Metropolitan Police was alerted to the incident in Southend Arterial Road at 10.50am this morning (March 6).
Several calls were received from concerned members of the public, all reporting the same fight which took place dangerously close to the 40 mile per hour road.
Details of the reports advised that one man in the group appeared to be in possession of a knife.
Enquiries continue and there have yet to be any arrests in connection to the incident.

A spokesperson for the Met said: “Police were called at 10:50hrs on Thursday, 6 March to Southend Arterial Road, Romford following reports of a disturbance.
“Officers received multiple calls from members of the public, who saw a group of men fighting, with one appearing to be carrying a knife.
“Officers attended and enquiries remain ongoing. No arrests have been made at this stage.”
