Police were called to the line near Maidstone at around 11.30am today (November 10).
Officers arrived with paramedics but a person died at the scene.
The incident is not being treated as suspicious.
Lines were closed following the incident with services from London Victoria to Ashford International via Maidstone East, and from London Charing Cross to Maidstone East facing disruption.
This included cancellations and delays of up to 60 minutes.
The lines have since reopened and disruption has ended.
A British Transport Police spokesperson: “Officers were called to the line near Maidstone at 11.28am on 10 November to reports of a casualty on the tracks.
“Paramedics also attended and sadly a person was pronounced dead at the scene.
“The incident is not being treated as suspicious.”
