The London Ambulance Service was called to South Road in Southall around 11.30am yesterday (September 2).
Paramedics arrived with police and the air ambulance and attempts were made to save the life of a man in his 60s at the scene.
He was pronounced dead at the scene, and his next of kin have been informed of his passing.
There have been no arrests and the lorry driver is helping police with ongoing enquiries.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.31am yesterday (2 September) to reports of a road traffic collision in South Road, Southall.
“We sent an ambulance crew, two paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer to the scene. We also dispatched London’s Air Ambulance.
“Despite the extensive efforts of the team to save his life, the patient sadly died at the scene.”
A Met Police spokesperson said: “At 11:34hrs on Tuesday, 2 September, police responded to a report of a road traffic collision in Southall.
“Officers and London Ambulance Service attended the junction of South Road with Park Avenue, where a man had allegedly been hit by a heavy goods vehicle.
“The pedestrian, a man in his 60s, was sadly pronounced dead at the scene. His next of kin have been informed and are being supported by specialist officers.
“No arrests have been made. The driver of the HGV is assisting police with their enquiries, which are ongoing.
