South Street, Romford former The Body Shop unit under offer

The progress has been seen inside 46 South Street, in a recent visit to the town centre.

It was most recently occupied by The Body Shop, but has been vacant since March 8. 

The shop pictured back in June (Image: Newsquest) The Romford branch was just one of more than 75 stores to close after The Body Shop International Ltd announced it had begun an administration process.

The company was bought out of administration by a consortium headed by the Auréa Group in September last year. 

Some work has taken place inside the shop (Image: Newsquest) In June, this paper reported that the empty unit had been put up for let by local estate agent Andrew Caplin Commercial.

In August a large hole has been made in the corner of the shop floor, revealing blue corrugated piping. 

The unit is under offer (Image: Newsquest) The wall next to the hole has been partially torn down, with blue stop cock valves typically used for below ground cold water.

The previous ‘to let’ sign has now been partly covered over by a sign saying ‘under offer’.
