Leon Hibbert, 42, of Twilley Street, admitted stealing from Co-op seven times between November and February.
In total he stole more than £500 worth of meat, fish, wine and other goods from the shop.
Hibbert appeared at Wimbledon Magistrates’ Court on February 25.
He was sentenced to 12 weeks in prison.
Magistrates noted he had numerous previous convictions and was not engaging with his current community order.
