Police were called to Northolt Road, outside South Harrow tube station, at around 11.50pm on Saturday (June 18) after reports a man had been injured.
Once at the scene, officers found a man in his 50s with a “serious” head injury.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said it is understood that another man got out of a vehicle on the road and became involved in a fight with the victim.

The man then reportedly punched the victim, who fell to the floor and hit his head.
He was rushed to hospital where he remains in a “serious condition”, says the Met.
A Met spokesperson said: “Police were called at around 11.50pm on Saturday, June 28 to Northolt Road (outside South Harrow LT station) to reports of a man injured.
“Officers attended and discovered a man in his 50s with a serious head injury.
“He was taken to hospital where he remains in a serious condition.
“It is understood a man exited a vehicle at the location and became involved in an altercation with the victim before punching him.

“The victim fell to the floor, sustaining the injury to his head.
“Local CID officers are currently investigating the incident and are in contact with the victim’s family who are receiving specialist support.”
Enquiries are ongoing to find the suspect.
