Since the start of the year, unleaded has gone up by 3.5p per litre, while diesel hit a peak of 147.0p per litre on February 27, rising by nearly 4.5p per litre.
Despite the recent increases, prices are still lower than this time last year—unleaded is down 3.4 per cent, and diesel has dropped 4.8 per cent.
However, the price hikes come at a time when crude oil prices are falling.
