In the early hours of Saturday (September 6), grassroots music venue The Sound Lounge had its windows smashed.
Since the vandalism, the venue has managed to raise an impressive £40,000.
The Metropolitan Police has launched an investigation.
Sutton Council said it will not tolerate any form of hate and will continue working with the Met and the venue’s owners to establish the full circumstances of the incident.
Cllr Barry Lewis, Leader of Sutton Council, said: “We are aware of the damage done to the Sound Lounge on Sutton High Street.
“Our local businesses are the heart of our communities, and this is devastating to see.
“Sutton is a friendly, diverse, welcoming borough, where people look out for each other and their local area.
“These actions are not reflective of our community in Sutton, and we do not tolerate any forms of hate.
“We will work with the Police and the owners of the Sound Lounge to establish exactly what happened and offer our support.”
