Shooters Hill Sixth Form College is closed today (January 7) after the 18-year-old boy was found with stab wounds in Prince Imperial Road at around 4.20pm yesterday.
The 18-year-old is in hospital in a potentially life-threatening condition.
In a message sent to parents, Shooters Hill Sixth Form College wrote: “Due to an incident in Prince Imperial Road near Shooters Hill Six Forum college we have been asked to close the organisation for the day and for students to work remotely and online.
“Apologies for any inconvenience.”
An alert has also been put on their website, reading “College (is) closed to students today Tuesday 7th January 2025.
“Please see text messages sent to students, parents and carers.
“Students who have exams should arrive as planned as these will still be going ahead.”
The school has confirmed to this paper that the victim is a year 12 student.
Headteacher Geoff Osborne said: “At approximately 4.20pm offsite in Prince Imperial Road yesterday a young man who is in Year 12 at Shooters Hill Sixth Form College was stabbed.
“This incident continues to be investigated by the Police and we are not in a position to release more details other than that the young man is receiving medical care for his injuries.
“The college is offering support and counselling to anyone who has been affected by the incident.

“Our thoughts are with the family and the victim and we ask that everyone respects their privacy at this difficult time.”
At this stage, there have been no arrests in connection to the stabbing.
