Sesta, which opened in London Fields in September 2024, replaced the Michelin-star tasting menu restaurant Pidgin and earned a place in Time Out’s 50 Best Restaurants in London.
The Wilton Way restaurant announced its closure on social media, expressing regret as it cited financial struggles as the primary reason.
The post read: “It’s with a heavy heart that we announce Sesta will not be reopening in the new year.
“While we’ve loved every minute of bringing this little restaurant to life, sadly times are just too hard to make ends meet.”
Sesta’s menu, curated by the restaurant’s head chef Drew Snaith, features a range of dishes, including nduja-scotched olives, coastal cheddar and cider scones, and prawn and stone bass dolma with ouzo butter.
Sesta is not the only recent casualty in London’s dining scene, as Hello JoJo in Camberwell also announced closure after only six months after opening its doors to diners.
Sesta’s final service is set for December 20.
