Rancliff, 65, last spoke to his family on December 26.
Officers say he is missing from his home and have issued a public appeal for information.
He is described by police as light-skinned black, 5ft 6in tall, of slim build, with dreadlocks and may wear glasses.
Anyone with information about his whereabouts is urged to contact police and quote the reference 01/7024494/26.
