Saint Francis Hospice is asking the people of Brentwood and Havering to recycle their real Christmas trees and support patients who require end-of-life care.
Volunteers will be collecting the trees from Thursday, January 8, to Sunday, January 11, 2026, from houses across several postcodes in Havering, Brentwood, and parts of Dagenham and Redbridge: RM1–RM14, CM13–CM15, CM4 0, and IG6.

People can book their Christmas tree collection on the hospice’s website, and last year the campaign raised £44,000 from generous donations from the community.
“Every donation helps us provide expert care and support to people at the most difficult time in their lives,” said an events manager at Saint Francis Hospice, Charlotte Winder.
“We’re so grateful to everyone who gets involved. Together, we can make this year our most successful yet.”
The funds raised from the tree recycling campaign are essential, helping the hospice to continue providing compassionate palliative and end-of-life care to people within the community.
Although the recycling service is free, the hospice relies completely on public donations to sustain their services as they do not make any money from the act of recycling the trees.
“This means every penny donated goes directly towards supporting people and their loved ones when they need us most,” Ms Winder added.
