The festive event takes place on Wednesday November 19 in Pond Square outside the headquarters of the Highgate Society – and follows a hugely successful switch on in 2022 which drew large crowds.
Back then Grint, who played Ron Weasley in the blockbuster movie franchise, brought along his partner Georgia Groome and daughter Wednesday to the Christmas event.
And Zane is now a regular fixture having hosted the event for the past six years, previously telling the Ham&High it’s “it’s a bit of a tradition.”
This year, crowds will gather at South Grove from 4pm, with seasonal tunes from the Highgate Brass Ensemble to get everyone in the mood.
This year’s lights have been sponsored by Channing and Highgate schools alongside local businesses, developers and residents who have donated to the fundraiser.
Developer Riverstone, which is building a retirement development in the Bishop’s Avenue, will be hosting a chance to meet Father Christmas at its hub at 1, Hampstead Lane next to The Gatehouse pub.
The firm will also be serving a post switch-on ‘Aperitivo Hour’ at 5.30pm with light bites and drinks to toast the festive season.
