Thousands of runners gathered with a “record number of ballot entrants” at the 18th annual event last Sunday (October 12) to raise money for charities.
During the event, Kory Russell made it to the finish line where he collapsed.
He received immediate specialist medical treatment and was taken to hospital.
However the organisers have since confirmed that Mr Russell has died.
A statement reads: “Kory Russell collapsed at the finish line; he received immediate specialist medical treatment and was transferred to hospital by ambulance.
“Everyone involved in the organisation of the Royal Parks Half Marathon would like to express sincere condolences to Kory’s family and friends.
“The family has requested privacy, and no further details will be released in accordance with their wishes.
“The cause of death will be established later through a post-mortem.”
The 13.1-mile route takes in many of London’s roads and four Royal Parks, including Hyde Park, Green Park, St James’ Park and Kensington Gardens.
