A three-year training scheme run by the Royal Parks charity is taking on paid apprentices for possible careers in horticulture.
The charity looks after eight historic open spaces including Regent’s Park, St James’s Park, Greenwich Park and Bushy Park near Hampton Court.
“This gives hands-on experience in London’s most iconic green spaces,” Royal Parks assistant manager Adam Stoter said. “It develops horticultural skills while helping to preserve these historic landscapes.”
Apprentices work four days a week in one of the parks and study at Capel Manor College in Regent’s Park for one day.
They spend two years on Level 2 in Horticultural Operations, with an option for a third year for the RHS Level 2 in Practical Horticulture.
Applications close on April 20, for all ages whether school-leavers, career changers or anyone already in the industry.
