The Royal Mail has warned customers in the SE12 postcode that they could experience disruptions due to “high levels of sick absence” and “resourcing” challenges today (October 20).
The company, which provides a six-day-a-week service nationwide, has said that they will rotate deliveries to minimise delays to individual customers.
On its website, the Royal Mail stated: “In a small number of local offices, this may temporarily not be possible due to local issues such as high levels of sick absence, resourcing, or other local factors.
“In these cases, Royal Mail rotates deliveries to minimise the delay to individual customers.”
Lee, also known as Lee Green, straddles the border of the London Borough of Lewisham and the Royal Borough of Greenwich.
This is not the only area experiencing challenges.
The company also mentioned that other Royal Mail offices in the country have been impacted by similar issues on October 20.
These include Ashington (NE22, NE62, NE63, and NE64), Kesh SUDO (BT93), Oxford DO (OX1 and OX2), Prenton (CH43), Sunbury On Thames DO (TW16), and Whitwood DO (WF6 and WF10).
The postal service apologised for any inconvenience caused and thanked customers for their understanding.
They explained that they provide targeted support to offices facing challenges to restore their service to the “high standard” that customers would normally receive.
The Royal Mail added: “We’re sorry for any inconvenience and thank you for your understanding.
“We will regularly update customers on the offices most impacted here:”
The company has committed to keeping customers regularly updated on the most impacted offices.
They aim to deliver to all addresses that have mail, but local issues such as high levels of sick absence and resourcing challenges can occasionally disrupt this service.
