North London NHS Foundation Trust’s Digital, Data, and AI Academy has been named the winner of the Digital Literacy, Education, and Upskilling Award at the Health Service Journal (HSJ) Digital Awards 2025.
The awards ceremony, held on June 26 at the ICC in Birmingham, celebrates digital initiatives that transform patient care and improve health service efficiency.
The judges described the academy as a “standout entry”, noting its significant financial, time-saving, and service benefits.
They said the initiative was a clear demonstration of “what effective digital upskilling can achieve when fully embedded across a system”.
Emily Burch, chief nursing information officer, said: “I am incredibly proud of the collaboration between NLFT and Multiverse and of all those involved in making NLFT Digital, Data and AI Academy such a success.”
The academy, launched in 2023 and created in partnership with Multiverse, is a professional development programme intended to bridge digital skills gaps, maximise the value of AI, and support the NHS Long Term Workforce Plan through strategic digital transformation.
As well as industry-recognised qualifications in data, AI, and digital tools, the academy offers a pathway to more efficient patient care.
