FixMyStreet is a website where the public can submit complaints about problems in their neighbourhood. The site then sends these to the appropriate local authority.
So, here are some of the reported issues in Romford from November and December 2025 and the start of 2026 to date.
The spots that generated the most complaints were the bus stops at The Brewery and Atalanta Boulevard.
On November 6 somebody posted a picture of a damaged board at a bus stop at The Brewery and claimed it had been in need of repair for a month.
They added: “Someone needs to repair this asap as public use this bus stop daily and it’s unfair to them to see this damage daily – please fix it asap”.
On December 12, a new complaint was raised at the bus station detailing “smashed glass or panels/ jagged metal edges on shelter”.
This report was submitted alongside a picture which appears to show the same damaged shelter as the complaint on November 6.
The latest complaint about The Brewery bus stops was lodged on Monday (January 5) when someone wrote: “Whole bus stop board is damaged – still not fixed in many months.
“Someone professional needs to come and inspect it and fix it.
“It’s terrible and looks so bad to public.”
One person with a keen eye documented on November 26 that fire extinguishers at the bus stops were heading towards being out of date.
On the same day, they noted that more fire extinguishers in the cabin CCTV room and staff areas at Atalanta Boulevard bus station were out of date at the end of the month.
On November 4, a door on a metal lighting box was reported to be loose with the submitter saying the “door has come off one bracket and could fall off” also at Atalanta Boulevard bus station.
A “blocked mail toilet” was reported at this bus station on November 24.
According to the submitter, this left only one toilet available to men and “needed unblocking asap”.
An issue with a “faulty door handle” here that “does not self release latch” was raised on December 13.
Graffiti was reported at a bus stop in Davidson Way on November 25 and at another stop in London Road on November 27.
A Havering Council spokesperson said: “As we have previously said, FixMyStreet is not a system we use and the complaints listed are predominantly issues which should be dealt with by Transport for London. Reports made through that platform do not come directly to us.
“Many of the issues previously raised via FixMyStreet are also not the responsibility of the council, which can create confusion and delays.
“To ensure your concerns that do fall under our responsibility reach the right team quickly, we encourage residents to report directly through our official customer service and enquiry pages online.
“This way, reports are logged on our system and passed straight to the relevant service teams – visit Contact us – London Borough of Havering.
“Our teams and contractors are regularly working across Romford and the borough as a whole, to clean streets, remove graffiti, clear fly-tipping, and carry out road and pavement improvements.”
Carl Eddleston, TfL’s director of streets and network operations, said: “We have a strong record of keeping our streets, bus and traffic infrastructure in good condition for Londoners, and want to make it as easy as possible for people to report issues when they find them.
“People can report issues directly to us using our TfL Street Care service, which automatically detects the organisation responsible for resolving them and has made a valuable contribution to our work to keep our network well-maintained. We continue to encourage anyone who sees an issue on our network to report it to us so that we can resolve it as soon as possible.”
