Lauren Martin, 34, set up a GoFundMe page for her dad Clifton Rae McKenzie after he received a “heart-breaking” terminal blood cancer diagnosis in June.
Clifton Rae, who goes by Rae, has already been battling end-stage kidney disease for more than five years now and had a stroke prior to this.
Now his family are hoping to raise enough money for one last trip to Jamaica – which Lauren said would “mean so much” for them all.

The mum-of-two told the Recorder: “My dad is part of the Windrush generation – he was born and bred in Jamaica and came over to the UK when he was young.
“He just really wants to go back and visit, and make some final memories.
“To go out there, feel the sunshine, drink a coconut.
“It will mean so much for us if we can try and get him there for his final wish.”
Lauren explained that Rae’s other health conditions mean treatment for his cancer is limited but said he is “unbelievably strong” and a “fighter” in spite of this.
“It’s been a heartbreaking time for our family, but we’re trying to adopt dad’s positive outlook and support him in every way we can,” she said.
“Dad continues to live his life as best as he can, never complaining.”
Now 77, Rae was once a black cab driver and so knows lots of people in the community who want to help him make his final wish come true.

The fundraiser was started on July 13, but has already reached £4,272 – with an end goal of £20,000.
This money will go towards flights and accommodation, assistance during travel and kidney dialysis abroad, which Lauren said can cost “thousands”.
“It’s been overwhelmingly positive to have the support of the community and people we know so far,” Lauren said.
“We’d be grateful for any support, even if it’s just a share.”
