Romford Food Festival with Wallace & Gromit coming this month

Romford Business Improvement District (BID) has promised visitors a “fun” May bank holiday weekend, with two days of food and live entertainment.

The festival is set for Sunday, May 25, from 10am to 6pm, and Monday, May 26, from 10am to 4pm.

Wallace & Gromit characters will be making an appearance on Sunday, May 25.

Fans can meet the pair in the marquee outside the old Debenhams building at intervals between 11am and 3pm.

On Monday, May 26, there’s the return of the community dog show, hosted by Scruffy’s Angels, from noon to 4pm.

The entry fee per category is £1.50, with all proceeds going to support the animal rescue and rehoming service.

Excitement awaits the little ones with bouncy castles and games, alongside biscuit decorating workshops offered by CakeyBakeyDooDaa.

The festival will showcase a variety of international street food stalls, promising flavours from Africa, America, Asia, the Caribbean, Spain, Poland, and Mexico.

There will also be gluten-free, vegetarian, and vegan options to cater to every palate.

Julie Frost, Romford BID director, said: “The food festival is just around the corner, and we’re thrilled to be bringing this vibrant event to Romford for the whole community to enjoy once again.”
