PC Sean Gannon, who serves with the Metropolitan Police’s East Area basic command unit, competed in the national event on Saturday, June 28.
PC Gannon, based in Romford town centre team B, took part in a series of strength challenges.
Events included a silver dollar deadlift, overhead medley, farmers walk, Conan’s wheel, and bag throws.
The competition ended in a tie, leading to a grip strength test using an axel bar and a 140kg stone.
PC Gannon won by just two seconds.
Sgt Aaron Harris said: “Despite him continuing to perform to an extremely high standard whilst at work, he has also dedicated extensive periods of time whilst off duty to train and improve for this event.
“He has represented the Metropolitan Police Service with pride.”
