Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to reports of a person stuck in a kayak on a mud bank on the River Darent.
A fire engine and two water safety units attended the scenes.
Emergency services rescued the man from the kayak using an inflatable pathway and rescue lines.
Nobody has been injured.
Kent Police attended the scene too.
Following this incident, people have been urged to call 999 if they see anyone struggling in the water and ask for the fire service.
In a statement on the Kent Fire and Rescue Service, it says: “Kent Fire and Rescue Service was called to a person in a kayak stuck on a mud bank on the River Darent in Dartford.
“One fire engine and two water safety units attended. Crews rescued the man from the kayak using rescue lines and an inflatable pathway.
“There were no injuries.
“Kent Police also attended.
“Following this incident crews are reminding people to make the right call this summer.
“If you see someone struggling in a lake, river, or any other area of inland water in Kent and Medway, call 999 and ask for the fire service.
“Making the right call can help to save valuable time and impact someone’s chance of survival.
“Remember to stay calm and give us as much detail as possible to the control operator.”
