Rice n Spice, which was previously based at Walthamstow Sunday Market, has now found a permanent home at CRATE Walthamstow – inside the 17&Central shopping centre.
It serves up “flamed” chicken tikka over rice and grilled seekh kebabs as wraps and rice boxes, as well as samosas, homemade Pakistani tea and desserts.
Owners Mohammed Shazad Khan, Subhan Khan, and Hamza Ahmed established Rice n Spice earlier this year.
Mohammed said: “CRATE felt like the perfect opportunity to bring our flavours to the community seven days a week.
“We wanted to create a space where people could enjoy high-quality, freshly cooked food at reasonable prices, all while keeping that authentic, family-run feel that defines us.”
Rice n Spice launched towards the end of October.
Hamza said it offers “desserts like you’ve never tasted before”.
The owners say they have already built a strong and loyal customer base through their social media platforms and regulars from Walthamstow Market.
Subhan said: “We grew up in Walthamstow and know the community really well.
“It’s a vibrant area with amazing energy, and we wanted to give something back by sharing the food we love with the people we’ve grown up around.”
It was welcomed by shopping centre manager Gavin Cockayne, who said: “We’re thrilled to welcome Rice n Spice to CRATE, enhancing our street food options with wraps, rice boxes, flame-grilled chicken tikka and divine desserts.
“As a local business, Rice n Spice truly understands the needs of our guests.
“It’s an exciting addition to the CRATE family, blending local flavour with guest-focused innovation.”
