A planning application has been submitted to Havering Council, seeking permission to change the use of the commercial space at 164 London Road.
The site was once the Slaters Arms, but the pub shut down in April 2018.
The 177-year-old boozer was later redeveloped into flats with retail units to the ground floor following a planning application in 2019.
According to documents accompanying the planning proposal, the basement and ground floor retail unit of the redevelopment has sat empty and available for market rent.

Alongside the desire to change the use of the retail unit, applicant Mrs Maryam Khan wishes to erect a boundary wall for a children’s garden along London Road, and replace cycle parking to the front of the site.
Kitchen facilities have also been mentioned in the plans and if approved, a total of 16 new jobs could be created across part and full-time staff.
A decision is expected to be reached by May 5.
