Schools have been ranked on their Attainment 8 score which is based on how well pupils have performed in up to eight qualifications including English, maths, three English Baccalaureat qualifications including sciences, computer science, history, geography and languages, and three additional approved qualifications.
The percentage of pupils who achieved grade 5 or above in English and maths GCSEs was also documented as well as the number of 2023 school leavers who stayed in education.
Progress 8 scores were unable to be calculated because there is no key stage two assessment data available to calculate the baseline for Progress 8 for these years due to Covid-19 disruption.
According to the data, Redbridge’s top performing school in the latest GCSEs was Woodford Country High School in High Road, Woodford Green.
It registered an Attainment 8 score of 79.9.
It also had the highest percentage of pupils achieving grade 5 or above in English and maths with 98.9 per cent.
In second place was Ilford County High School in Fremantle Road, Ilford with an Attainment 8 score of 75.5 and 97.2pc of pupils achieving grade 5 or higher in English and maths.
Valentines High School in Cranbrook Road, Ilford had the third highest Attainment 8 score with 58.5 and 75.3pc of pupils achieving grade 5 or above in English and maths.
At the other end of the rankings, Forest Academy in Harbourer Road, Ilford registered the lowest Attainment 8 score with 42.
A total of 37.1pc of pupils got a grade 5 or higher in English and maths – the second lowest percentage in the borough after Mayfield School, which despite having a Dagenham postcode, was included in Redbridge’s list.
Caterham High School in Caterham Avenue, Ilford had the second lowest Attainment 8 score with 44.3 whilst Mayfield School had the third lowest with 45.
