Justin Clarke-Samuel, stage name Ghetts, appeared at Stratford Magistrates’ Court on October 20, charged with causing serious injury by dangerous driving.
On October 18, emergency services were called to Redbridge Lane East with reports of a crash involving a pedestrian and car.
It is alleged that the car did not stop at the scene.

The 20-year-old male pedestrian is understood to have since died in hospital.
Clarke-Samuel has been remanded into custody and is due to appear at Barkingside Magistrates’ Court on October 27.
Following the death, an amendment is expected to be made to the charge at the next hearing.
