Footage online shows smoke billowing from the track next to Queens Road station today (January 13).
The London Fire Brigade is at the scene to tackle the blaze.
As a result lines between Peckham Rye and Canada Water / London Bridge are closed while emergency services carry out their work.
National Rail says that services are unable to run through Queens Road and the station itself is closed.
It said: “Trains are unable to go through this station and it may be quicker at this time to use an alternative route to complete your journey.”

According to National Rail, it has been “necessary” to stop the trains since it the fire could be too close to the track.
While the London Fire Brigade remains at the scene, trains can be cancelled, delayed or revised.
Disruption is expected until the end of the day, and at the time of publication it is unclear if it will carry over to tomorrow (January 14).
