Around 8.30am today (April 26) two cars were in a crash in Purley Way at its junction with Trojan Way in Croydon.
One of the drivers – a man in his 50s – was taken to hospital where he is in a critical condition.
The driver of the second car was a man in his 40s who was also taken to hospital.
The second driver’s condition is not believed to be serious.
There were no other reports of injuries.
An investigation has been launched and a scene remains in place.
Any witnesses have been advised to call 101 quoting CAD 1807/26APR25.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “At around 08.30hrs on Saturday, 26 April two cars were in collision in Purley Way at its junction with Trojan Way, Croydon.
“Met officers responded and the driver of one of the cars – a man in his 50s – was taken to hospital in a critical condition.
“The driver of the second car – a man in his 40s – was also taken to hospital but his condition is not believed to be serious.
“No other reports of injuries.
“A scene remains in place while an investigation continues.
“Witnesses are advised to call 101 quoting CAD 1807/26APR25.”
