Croydon Police said on Thursday (January 9) that officers from Croydon were alerted to a vehicle travelling at high speed.
The driver of the vehicle allegedly failed to stop when requested, resulting in a police chase.
Police chased the man around Purley Way and on nearby streets.
The car eventually crashed on Brighton Road. It is believed that no members of the public were hurt.
Police surrounded the area to ensure the man could not escape. With the help of the police dog unit, the driver was located hiding under a nearby vehicle.
He was arrested on suspicion of driving offences and is believed to have been wanted on suspicion of sexual offences.
