The senior head of the support team at the hospice in High Barnet received the top accolade from the prestigious Chartered Institute of Fundraising.
“Priya has shaped who we are,” Noah’s Ark chief executive Sophie Andrews said. “She is a dedicated fundraising professional and stalwart of the charity.”
Priya joined Noah’s Ark in 2006 when it began a small ‘hospice-at-home’ voluntary service — years before The Ark itself was opened in Byng Road in 2019.
She was the only fundraiser back then. But her vision led to a professional team of eight who run its annual ‘match funding’ campaign.
This brings in corporate sponsors like Tottenham Hotspur and other commercial backers to fill a budget gap because only a fraction of the hospice running costs comes from the NHS.
The annual chartered institute awards recognise fundraisers “who have made the world a better place in extraordinary ways”.
