The incident between two men took place at the Priory Shopping Centre at around 12.40pm yesterday (March 27).
Officers say a suspect was restrained by security staff and was arrested by attending police shortly after.
The victim was taken to hospital for wounds to his head and finger.
Bassan Biro, 24, of Gillingham High Street, was later charged with attempted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, and affray.
He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court today (March 28).
A spokesperson for Kent Police told the News Shopper: “Kent Police is investigating allegations of an assault at the Priory Shopping Centre in Dartford, on Thursday 27 March 2025.
“It is reported that at around 12.40pm a suspect armed with scissors injured another man.
“The suspect was restrained by security staff and was arrested by attending police officers shortly after.
“The victim was taken to hospital for wounds to his head and finger.
“Bassan Biro, 24, of Gillingham High Street, was later charged with attempted wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm, possession of an offensive weapon, and affray.
“He was remanded in custody to appear before Medway Magistrates’ Court on Friday 28 March.”
