Priory Green in Harold Hill is the second location to be named a village green this year.
A dedication event was held on Saturday, July 26, to unveil a stone plaque declaring the green space as a village green.
This was attended by council leader Ray Morgon and Harold Hill ward councillors Paul McGeary and Patricia Brown.
Residents were also invited to attend a community picnic, to celebrate the village green dedication.
Councillor Morgon said: “It has been great to see the community come together and celebrate with us.
“I’m pleased to be able to once again say that safeguarding Priory Green for future generations as a vital community asset was a manifesto promise we made and are now delivering.”
Priory Green joins Platford Village Green, also dedicated last month, and the five village greens dedicated in 2024.
Celebrations will continue this year with the dedication of Ongar Way on August 2 and Reed Pond Walk Copse on August 30.
