The road was closed off both ways for nearly eight hours today (October 15) after medics were called to an “incident” at the junction of Preston Road and Elmstead Avenue.
Initially there were indications that this was due to a crash, according to locals spoken to by the Brent & Kilburn Times and traffic scanners.
However, it is now understood this could be due to another police incident.
The London Ambulance Service has not specified the nature of the incident, but we are working to establish more details.
However, two patients were treated at the scene before being rushed to hospital.
Police were also at the scene, with Preston Road taped off from Grasmere Avenue to Uxendon Crescent – near Preston Road station.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 1.58am today (15 October) to reports of an incident at the junction of Preston Road and Elmstead Avenue, Wembley.
“We sent resources to the scene, including ambulance crews, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer. We also dispatched a trauma team in a car from London’s Air Ambulance.
“We treated two patients and took them to hospital as a priority.”
The Metropolitan Police has been approached for comment.
