Earlier this year, it was announced that the Poundland store on 35-37 High Street in Sidcup would be closing for good.
It was initially set to close on November 9, but reports from The Sun and The Daily Express say it will close next Friday (November 14) instead.
A huge clearance sale is underway at the shop on 35–37 High Street, with up to 40 per cent off everything from groceries to clothing, health and beauty to homewares, and discounts will run until all stock is sold.
Sidcup Partners BID said “high levels of shoplifting” were among the challenges that led to the decision to close the store.
Darren MacDonald, Poundland’s retail director, said: “We know how disappointing it is when we leave a store, but before we close our doors for a final time, we’re determined to say goodbye by offering even more amazing value to customers.
“The special reductions, on top of the value we provide in every store, will help us leave locations we’re leaving with pride.
“And when we close our doors, we look forward to welcoming customers to one of the hundreds of Poundland stores we’ll continue to operate right across the UK.”
