The London Ambulance Service responded to reports of an unwell person on Portland Road just after 11.30am today (October 20).
Ambulance crews, a paramedic in a fast response car, and a clinical team manager dispatched to the scene.
The individual was pronounced dead at the scene.
Portland Road and Harrington Road have been taped off today, with sightings of a tent erected by emergency services.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 11.33am today (20 October) to reports of a person unwell on Portland Road, South Norwood.
“We sent resources, including an ambulance crew, a paramedic in a fast response car and a clinical team manager.
“Very sadly, a person was pronounced dead at the scene.”
