Officers from the Metropolitan Police were called at 12.13pm today (February 21) with reports of a man carrying a knife in Portland Road.
Emergency services were dispatched to the scene in response to the reports, arresting a man on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.
The arrest was made in seven minutes of the call coming in.
The man remains in custody at this stage and enquiries into the circumstances are ongoing.

A spokesperson for the Met said: “Police were called at 12:13hrs on Friday, 21 February to Portland Road, SE25 following reports of a man carrying a knife.
“Officers attended and arrested a man within seven minutes on suspicion of possession of a bladed article.
“He remains in custody and enquiries are ongoing.”
