Insp Weeden has authorised a Section 35 Dispersal Order between the hours of 4pm today (March 21) and 4am on March 22.
Under the order, a constable in uniform has the power to order a person who is in a public place in the boundary of the order to leave the locality.
This is permitted when officers have reasonable grounds to suspect that the behaviour of a person has contributed, or is likely, to a member of the public being harassed, caused alarm or distress.
Removed persons are also given orders about when they can re-enter the area.

According to the Metropolitan Police, these orders are made when it is “necessary for the purpose of removing or reducing the likelihood” of unwanted behaviour.
In this case, Insp Weeden has approved the order on the grounds that they have received “clear intelligence of anti-social behaviour within the boundaries set”.
The boundary covers a large area of Barking, including the station, Abbey Green Park, Barking Park, and Greatfields Park.
