The Metropolitan Police were called to reports of a stabbing outside Greenwich Islamic Centre on Plumstead Road at around 1pm on Friday (April 11).
Officers attended with the London Ambulance Service, and a man in his 30s was taken to hospital.
It is unknown whether the man’s injuries are life-threatening.
Two men, one aged in his 20s and the other aged in his 30s, were arrested on suspicion of GBH (grievous bodily harm).
The men remain in custody as enquiries continue.
A spokesperson for the Metropolitan Police said: “Police were called to reports of a stabbing in Plumstead Road, SE18, at around 13:00hrs on Friday, 11 April.
“Officers attended alongside the London Ambulance Service.
“One man in his 30s was taken to the hospital for stab wounds.
“There is no update on the man’s injuries at this time.
“There have been two arrests.
“One man in his 30s was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
“Another man in his 20’s was arrested on suspicion of grievous bodily harm.
“They remain in custody.
“Enquiries continue.”
Police also responded to another incident a four-minute drive away from Plumstead Road, in Plumstead High Street.
A bus stop was cordoned off. There were ambulance vehicles, a police van, and a fire engine at the scene.
The incidents in Plumstead Road and Plumstead High Street were unrelated.
