The London Ambulance Service was called to Plumstead Road at 9.30am this morning (October 23).
An ambulance crew and incident response officer were dispatched alongside paramedics in fast response cars.
The first responders arrived at the scene within three minutes of the report coming in.
A male patient was located but later pronounced dead at the scene.
A London Ambulance Service spokesperson said: “We were called at 9.30am today (23 October) to reports of a person unwell at the junction of Maxey Road and Plumstead Road, SE18.

“We sent resources, including an ambulance crew, paramedics in fast response cars and an incident response officer.
“Our first paramedics arrived on scene in less than three minutes.
“Very sadly, despite the best efforts of our crews, a man was pronounced dead at the scene.”
